Smile on the Mile - Basketball

Come visit the future site of the Children's Playground and Green Space while some playing or enjoying basketball.

Date: Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8-11 a.m.

Location: Kechi United Methodist Church basketball court (south of the church)

Cost: FREE, but donations are welcome directly paid to Kechi United Methodist Church (4533 E. 61st St. N., Kechi, KS 67067):

Schedule:

8 a.m. Check-in opens

8:30-9:15 a.m. Group 1: Elementary (grades K-3)

9:15-9:25 a.m. BREAK

9:25-10:10 a.m. Group 2: Elementary (grades 4-5)

10:10-10:20 a.m. BREAK

10:20-11:05 a.m. Group 3: Middle school (grades 6-8)

All participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver before participation.

Things to Know:

- This is a concrete, outdoor court. Dress appropriately and bring water. We will have some water bottles available.
- It is a single-elimination tournament. Bracket placement is drawn at random.
- There will be a Men's and Women's League, each with four teams.

Game Play:

- Two, 10-minute halves; 5-minute half-time
- 5-minute transition time between each competition for warm-up.
